Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Outside Sales Consultant (Hindi/Mandarin speakers encouraged) to grow restaurant and foodservice accounts in the Houston, TX territory. This role focuses on building customer relationships, driving sales growth, and supporting operational delivery for customers in the assigned geography.
Employment type: Full-time / Contractor
Compensation: $100,000 per year (as listed) — plus bonus and incentives; benefits available.
What You’ll Do
As an Outside Sales Consultant you will:
- Develop new business and deepen penetration in existing accounts to drive profitable sales growth within your territory.
- Prospect, qualify and prioritize accounts per client account stratification.
- Assess customer needs and recommend product and service solutions that support customer goals.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity; recommend appropriate product mixes.
- Deliver product knowledge, training, and value-added service to customer staff.
- Manage order and delivery issues in coordination with operations and transportation teams.
- Collect receivables as needed and work with credit teams to manage account balances.
- Participate in promotional events, customer visits, trade shows and district meetings.
- Maintain sales records, prepare quotes, and complete administrative tasks (reports, budgets, special-order requests).
- Support and mentor new sales hires and participate in ongoing training.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline; OR
- High school diploma/GED plus 3 years’ experience in restaurant management, B2B/outside sales, or equivalent experience (including completion of relevant sales internship).
- Valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance that meets the client’s minimum liability requirements.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.
- Able to pass employment testing and background checks required by the client.
Preferred
- Bi-lingual: fluency in Hindi and/or Mandarin strongly preferred.
- Experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef/culinary background.
- Strong sales ability, relationship-building skills, follow-up and adaptability.
Other requirements
- May be required to sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants agreement.
- Meet driving record and insurability standards.
