Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an outside Sales Consultant to manage territory accounts and drive new business growth in Grand Junction, CO. This field sales role emphasizes restaurant and foodservice relationships, B2B selling, and consultative account management. The position may require some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends or holidays) to meet customer needs.

  • Estimated compensation: $49,475 per year (estimated)
  • Employment type: Full-time / Contractor
  • Location: Grand Junction, CO — candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the territory

What You’ll Do

  • Develop new business and grow existing accounts to achieve sales and profit goals within assigned territory
  • Prospect, qualify, and prioritize leads according to account stratification objectives
  • Recommend product mixes and solutions based on customer business needs and market trends
  • Provide product information, demonstrations, and practical training to customer personnel
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions, competitor offerings, and pricing to offer value-added guidance
  • Manage order/delivery issues and coordinate with operations to resolve inventory or delivery problems
  • Support collections work and cooperate with credit teams as needed
  • Prepare sales quotes, budgets, reports, and maintain accurate sales records
  • Participate in sales meetings, district events, and ongoing training; assist in training new hires when requested
  • Represent the client at customer events, promotions and industry gatherings

Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field OR high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent experience)
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance meeting the client’s minimum liability requirements
  • Ability to read, write and speak English; basic PC skills and familiarity with MS Office
  • Willingness to undergo employment testing and sign the client’s protective covenants agreement
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory

Preferred

  • Bi-lingual candidates a plus
  • Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience preferred

Certificates/Licenses

  • Current automobile insurance with required limits (example client minimums): Bodily injury — $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident; Property damage — $100,000 (confirm specific limits with the client)
  • Driving record that meets the client’s insurability standards
