What You’ll Do

This outside sales role focuses on building long-term relationships with new and existing foodservice customers in an assigned territory (Grand Junction, CO). You’ll help customers succeed by recommending products and services that meet their business goals while achieving territory sales and profit targets.

  • Develop new business and deepen penetration of existing accounts to drive profitable growth.
  • Qualify prospects and follow account stratification goals.
  • Assess customer needs and design a product/service mix to meet those needs.
  • Recommend products based on market trends, customer goals, and competitor information.
  • Provide product information, menu suggestions, and on-site practical training for customer staff.
  • Respond to customer questions about products, pricing, availability, and usage.
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, industry events, and company meetings.
  • Work with credit/finance teams to collect receivables as needed.
  • Coordinate with transportation and operations to manage order issues and delivery schedules.
  • Participate in promotions, customer events, and sales/district meetings.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records — prepare quotes, reports, and sales budgets.
  • Engage in continuous training and assist in onboarding new employees when requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who We’re Looking For

Candidates who combine foodservice knowledge, consultative selling skills, and strong territory management will be successful. Typical backgrounds include experienced outside/B2B sales professionals, restaurant managers, culinary managers, or chefs seeking a sales career.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or completion of an approved sales internship).
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and sell solutions.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a sales territory independently.
  • Comfortable working some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) as customer needs require.
  • Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
  • Foodservice, restaurant management, or chef experience preferred.

  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Strong communication — ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Sales ability, persuasion, and follow-up discipline.
  • Building trust and customer loyalty.
  • Adaptability and effective time/workload management.

  • Estimated pay (source): $39,596 per year — this is an estimate from the originating source and not a guaranteed range. If selected, your offer letter will include any compensation details required by law.

Legal & Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meet Confidential Client insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance that meets company minimum liability requirements.
  • Must pass employment testing.
  • Must sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants agreement (as applicable).
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
