What You’ll Do
This outside-sales role focuses on building strong customer relationships, growing existing accounts, and developing new business across the assigned territory in and around Garden City, KS. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth and territory objectives.
- Qualify prospects and manage prospecting activities consistent with account stratification goals.
- Assess customer needs and recommend product and service solutions that support their business goals.
- Monitor market trends, product innovations, and competitor activity; share relevant insights with customers.
- Provide product information and on-site training to customer personnel.
- Manage account receivables in coordination with the credit team; collect balances per approved credit terms.
- Coordinate and troubleshoot delivery and order issues with operations/transportation teams.
- Participate in customer visits, promotions, events, and company/district meetings.
- Maintain sales records, prepare quotes and menu suggestions, and complete required administrative reporting.
- Travel within the territory using a personal vehicle as required (mileage reimbursed where applicable).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR high school diploma/GED plus 3 years’ restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent), including completion of a sales internship or comparable hands-on experience.
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance that meet company insurability requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) encouraged to apply.
- Background in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or culinary/chef experience is a plus.
Certificates & Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Current automobile insurance (coverage limits noted by client).
- Must pass employment testing.
- Must sign employer’s protective covenants agreement or similar employment documents.
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary: $73,930 per year (Adzuna estimated figure).
