Job Summary

This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting products and services and building strong relationships with new and existing accounts in an assigned territory. The role focuses on helping customers succeed while meeting sales and profit goals. Some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) may be required.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop new business and deepen relationships with existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth
  • Identify and qualify prospects following account stratification goals
  • Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate product and service mixes
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity; recommend relevant products to customers
  • Answer customer questions about products, pricing, availability, and usage
  • Provide product information and on-site training for customer personnel
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, meetings, and events
  • Support order and delivery processes; troubleshoot supply issues (out-of-stock, special orders, inventory)
  • Work with credit to communicate and collect accounts receivable when needed
  • Prepare and maintain sales records, quotes, budgets, and reports
  • Participate in district sales meetings, company promotions, and training sessions
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required education / experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR
  • High school diploma/GED plus 3 years’ experience in Restaurant Management, B2B/outside sales, or equivalent related experience (including completion of an accredited sales internship)

Preferred:

  • Bilingual candidates
  • Background in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience

Requirements & Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record per insurability standards
  • Current automobile insurance with the stated minimum liability limits
  • Must pass employment testing
  • Must sign Confidential Client Protective Covenants Agreement
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency with basic PC functions and MS Office
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English (bilingual a plus)
  • Strong customer relationship and trust-building skills
  • Sales ability / persuasiveness and strong follow-up
  • Effective time and territory management
  • Adaptability and clear communication
