Role overview
Confidential Client is recruiting an Outside Sales Consultant to cover a territory based in Cornell, CA. This field sales role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with foodservice and hospitality customers, driving profitable sales growth, and providing product and service support. This is a territory-driven position that requires daily travel by personal vehicle and occasional non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
What You’ll Do
This is an outside sales position focused on helping customers succeed while meeting sales and profit goals for the territory.
- Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and territory objectives.
- Prospect, qualify, and prioritize opportunities according to account stratification.
- Research customer needs and recommend product and service mixes to meet those needs.
- Evaluate market trends and recommend solutions and products to customers.
- Provide product information and practical on-site training for customer staff.
- Answer customer questions on product availability, pricing, and usage.
- Drive to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings as required.
- Manage receivables in coordination with credit teams and collect balances per approved terms.
- Coordinate with operations/transportation to manage deliveries and troubleshoot order issues.
- Participate in promotions, customer events, and district or sales meetings.
- Prepare sales budgets and reports, maintain sales records, and generate quotes, menu suggestions, and other administrative tasks.
- Support onboarding and training of new sales team members when requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation & benefits
- Estimated base pay: $70,780 per year (estimated).

Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR
- High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent relevant experience (including completion of a sales internship).
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record that meets company insurability standards.
- Current automobile insurance meeting required liability limits: bodily injury $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; property damage $100,000.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications
- Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged.
- Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience preferred.
- Experience working territory or account-based sales in the foodservice/hospitality sector.
Skills & competencies
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Strong sales ability and persuasiveness.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Adaptability, time management, and ability to build customer trust and loyalty.
Work location & schedule
- Territory-based role centered in Cornell, CA. Candidates should reside in or be willing to relocate to the general vicinity of the assigned territory.
- Regular travel by personal vehicle is required.
- May require non-traditional work hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.
Additional requirements
- Must pass employment testing.
- Must sign the client’s standard protective covenants / agreements where applicable.
