About the Role

Our confidential client is hiring a Sales Consultant for outside sales in Cherokee, NC. This role focuses on building and growing relationships with new and existing foodservice customers (restaurants, hospitality and institutional accounts) to drive profitable sales and deliver value-added service. The position includes a competitive base, bonus potential and a benefits package — plus tools to succeed like a cell phone and car allowance/mileage reimbursement (CA candidates).


What You’ll Do

  • Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve territory sales goals.
  • Qualify and pursue prospects per account stratification and territory plans.
  • Recommend product mixes and service solutions based on customer needs and market trends.
  • Deliver product training and practical support to customer staff.
  • Answer customer questions about product availability, pricing and use.
  • Manage day-to-day account activity: orders, special requests, and troubleshooting with operations.
  • Work with credit/finance teams to collect receivables as needed.
  • Participate in promotions, customer visits, events and sales/district meetings.
  • Complete administrative duties: sales reports, budgets, quotes, menu suggestions and record maintenance.
  • Support and attend ongoing training; assist in training new hires when requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base salary: $53,459 per year (estimated).
  • Performance bonus and promotional incentives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent experience, including completion of the client’s sales internship).
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance meeting the stated liability limits.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.

Preferred

  • Bilingual candidates a plus.
  • Restaurant management, foodservice outside sales or chef experience preferred.

Certificates / Requirements

  • Current automobile insurance with limits: bodily injury $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; property damage $100,000.
  • Pass employment testing.
  • Must sign the confidential client’s Protective Covenants Agreement.

Work Location & Schedule

  • Primary work location: Cherokee, NC (territory-based outside sales).
  • This role may require some non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet customer needs.
  • Must drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, meetings and conventions.
