What You’ll Do
This outside sales role (Sales Consultant) in Bozeman, MT focuses on building relationships with new and existing B2B foodservice and hospitality accounts to drive profitable sales growth. You will represent the Confidential Client’s products and services, help customers succeed, and meet territory sales and profitability goals.
- Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve sales targets within an assigned territory.
- Prospect, qualify leads, and follow account stratification and territory plans.
- Recommend product mixes and services to meet customer business needs.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitors, and product innovations; share value-added insights with customers.
- Provide product information and hands-on training to customer personnel.
- Manage orders, troubleshoot delivery or inventory issues, and coordinate with operations teams.
- Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings.
- Support collections and work with the credit team as needed.
- Participate in promotions, customer events, district and sales meetings.
- Maintain sales records, prepare quotes, sales budgets and reports, and analyze sales/profitability data.
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members and engage in ongoing training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years’ experience in restaurant management, B2B/outside sales, or equivalent experience (including completion of a sales internship).
- Experience selling to restaurants, foodservice or hospitality customers is highly desirable.
- Bilingual candidates are a plus.
- Proven success in territory sales, new business development, and customer relationship management.
Requirements & Certifications
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the Confidential Client’s insurability standards.
- Current automobile insurance meeting required limits as specified by the client (example minimums shown on original posting).
- Must be able to reside in or relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.
- Pass pre-employment testing and sign the Confidential Client’s protective covenants/agreement as part of employment.
- Ability to work some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) as customer needs require.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong sales ability and persuasiveness with demonstrated follow-up and closing skills.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills; focused on building customer loyalty and trust.
- Good organization and time-management for managing territory and administrative duties.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Ability to read, write and speak English (bilingual skills preferred where noted).
