Overview

This outside Sales Consultant role supports a Confidential Client in foodservice distribution covering the Alpharetta/Cumming, GA territory (zip 30337). The position focuses on developing and maintaining customer relationships, growing sales, and helping foodservice operators succeed. Travel up to 25% may be required. What You’ll Do

  • Develop new business and deepen relationships with existing accounts to drive profitable sales growth within an assigned territory.
  • Identify, qualify, and prioritize prospects following account stratification goals.
  • Assess customer business needs and recommend product and service mixes to meet those needs.
  • Monitor market trends, product innovations, and competitor activity; incorporate insights into customer conversations.
  • Provide product information, practical training, and menu suggestions to customer personnel.
  • Answer product, pricing, availability, and usage questions.
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer locations, conventions, and company meetings as needed.
  • Manage account receivables in coordination with credit teams; collect balances within approved credit terms.
  • Coordinate order and delivery issues with the transportation team and troubleshoot order exceptions (out-of-stock, special orders, low inventory).
  • Participate in customer events, promotions, and sales/district meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain sales reports, budgets, quotes, and customer files; complete required administrative tasks.
  • Engage in ongoing training and assist in onboarding or mentoring new employees as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

Required Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR
  • High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B/outside sales experience, or comparable hands-on experience (including completion of an approved sales internship).

Preferred

  • Bilingual candidates preferred.
  • Prior restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or chef experience is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance meeting minimum coverage limits: Bodily injury $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; Property damage $100,000.

Other Requirements

  • Pass employment-related testing.
  • Sign Confidential Client’s protective covenants agreement as required.
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proven sales ability and persuasiveness; strong follow-up and account management.
  • Building trust and customer loyalty through consultative selling.
  • Time management, adaptability, and the ability to work independently in the field.
