Confidential Client is seeking a Sales and Operations Management Trainee based in Montebello, CA. This entry-level management trainee role blends sales, operations, fleet oversight, customer service and field work. The Sales and Operations Management Trainee in Montebello, CA will receive structured training, hands-on mentorship, and clear advancement milestones to become an operations or sales manager.
What You’ll Do
- Develop customer solutions for consumer and commercial accounts, including local and national customers.
- Support fleet operations and inventory management of vehicles, balancing productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Generate new business leads and maintain existing customer relationships to grow local revenue.
- Provide excellent customer service and problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Learn and use sales processes, technology platforms, and operational procedures during a 6–9 month training program.
- Work assigned schedule (typically Tuesday–Saturday, day shift) and travel within the district as needed for customer site visits and training.
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly rate documented in the source posting: $27.88 per hour.
- The role may reference an annualized starting salary of at least $52,000 (varies by experience and market) and an estimated annual figure of approximately $70,575 — actual pay will be set by the hiring organization.
- Weekend differential applies at this location when scheduled.
- Schedule: Day shift; typical work week Tuesday through Saturday.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred majors include Business, Marketing or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Internship or customer-facing work experience preferred.
- Results-oriented with attention to detail and effective time management.
- Valid driver’s license required and willingness/ability to drive company vehicles, including a 26' box truck.
- Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this role.
- Must consent to background checks, reference checks, and drug screening as required by role and applicable law.
DOT & Safety Requirements
This position involves driving company and customer vehicles and is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive. The successful candidate must maintain a valid driver qualification file, which may include:
- Annual motor vehicle records (MVR) checks.
- A completed DOT physical exam where required.
- Safety performance history checks from prior employers covering the last 3 years.
- CDL holders may be subject to additional screening, including FMCSA Clearinghouse checks and DOT drug testing.
These checks are job-related and consistent with ensuring public safety.
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to read, communicate, analyze and follow written and verbal instructions.
- May be required to stand, walk, and sit; frequent use of hands for handling items.
- Occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs (12 kg).
- Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
