What You’ll Do

As a Sales and Operations Management Trainee for our confidential client, you will learn to run a location-level business and support customers through hands-on rotation across sales, operations, fleet management, customer service and basic finance/administration. You’ll be mentored through structured training and on-the-job coaching with clear performance milestones and advancement paths.

  • Develop customer solutions for consumer and commercial accounts, including national clients
  • Support fleet management to balance productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Generate new business leads and nurture existing customer relationships
  • Deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Use company systems and technology to track activity, sales, and operational metrics
  • Participate in scheduled training, district meetings and occasional travel within the region

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage vehicle inventory and support fleet readiness
  • Execute local sales efforts and prospect for new customers
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations to meet service and safety standards
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators
  • Work cross-functionally with district operations, training and support teams
  • Maintain accurate records, including customer, vehicle and safety documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Marketing or related fields preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-facing internship or work experience preferred
  • Results-oriented, attention to detail and good time-management skills
  • Valid driver’s license required; willingness and ability to drive company vehicles including a 26’ box truck

Requirements & Safety Compliance

This position is safety-sensitive and regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). Candidates must satisfy and maintain required driver qualification and safety checks:

  • Maintain a driver qualification file as required for DOT-regulated work
  • Consent to motor vehicle record (MVR) checks and a DOT physical examination
  • Provide Safety Performance History records from prior employers for the last 3 years
  • CDL holders: DOT drug screening within 30 days of start and FMCSA Clearinghouse review as applicable
  • Submit to a background investigation (employment, education, and criminal history) and pre-employment drug screening as required

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk and sit as needed during shift duties
  • Frequently required to use hands, reach with arms and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs (12 kg)
  • Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Regular, predictable attendance and the ability to work scheduled shifts are essential

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $27.70 hourly

Location & Travel

This role is based at the facility located at 515 S. Van Dorn Street, Alexandria, VA 22304. Willingness to travel within the district for customer yards, training sites and regional meetings is required.
