Role overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Safety Training Coordinator to support the Mobile Bridge Project in Prichard, AL. In this role you will plan, coordinate, deliver, and track safety training and onboarding for craft workers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and project staff. You will help ensure workers have the required orientation, regulatory training, and project-specific instruction to perform work safely on a major bridge construction project.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and administer new-hire orientations and project-specific safety onboarding programs.
- Schedule, deliver, and track mandatory safety training for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Maintain and audit training records to ensure compliance with project, client, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Deliver training on topics such as fall protection, confined space entry, rigging, crane safety, marine operations, PPE, and other construction safety topics.
- Monitor certification expirations and coordinate refresher training.
- Develop training materials, presentations, toolbox talks, and safety awareness campaigns.
- Work with field supervision to identify training gaps and competency development needs.
- Assist incident investigations by identifying training-related corrective actions and lessons learned.
- Support emergency response drills and preparedness training activities.
- Verify workforce qualifications before assignments and produce training metrics and reports for project leadership and clients.
- Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, engagement, and ongoing communication with field personnel.
- Assist with implementation of the client’s safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field — or equivalent construction-industry experience.
- Minimum 3+ years coordinating or delivering safety training in heavy civil, bridge, marine, industrial, or commercial construction environments.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
- Experience maintaining training records and managing training compliance programs.
- Strong presentation, communication, and group-facilitation skills.
- Proven ability to engage diverse audiences (craft workers through project leadership).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with learning management systems (LMS).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to travel across the project site.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base pay: $55,130 per year (estimated).

The client’s Bridge & Marine district executes complex transportation infrastructure projects — including foundations, marine operations, structural concrete, steel erection, and heavy lifts. The Safety Training Coordinator will partner with project leadership, safety professionals, field operations, and subcontractors to foster safety, competency development, and continuous improvement.
