Safety Specialist
The Safety Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing site-specific safety plans to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and promote a strong safety culture on large-scale data center construction projects. What You’ll Do
This Safety Specialist role supports large-scale data center construction projects in Wisconsin. You will be a hands-on safety resource in the field, working with project teams and contractors to keep people safe and work moving.
- Develop and implement site-specific safety plans that enable safe, on-time project execution
- Conduct field audits, site inspections, and job hazard analyses to identify and correct hazards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, site procedures, and company safety policies
- Monitor contractor/subcontractor activities for adherence to PPE, work controls, and safe work practices
- Lead incident/near-miss investigations, document findings, and support corrective actions
- Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and on-site training to build awareness and accountability
- Maintain accurate records of audits, permits, incident reports, and training documentation
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and trade partners to integrate safety across all phases
- Promote proactive hazard reporting and a positive safety culture in the field
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase safety, productivity, and compliance
What We're Looking For
These required qualifications reflect the baseline for success in this early-career to mid-level safety role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field
- Current OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certification
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices
- Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and job hazard analyses
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage field crews and subcontractors
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to investigate incidents and assist in corrective action implementation
- Willingness to spend significant time onsite supporting active construction operations
Preferred Qualifications
These will help you ramp faster and grow into leadership roles within construction safety.
- Internship or field experience on commercial, industrial, mission‑critical, or data‑center construction projects
- Familiarity with high‑risk activities (energized work, crane operations, confined spaces, fall protection)
- Experience leading safety trainings or toolbox talks
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Desire to develop into a construction safety leader
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity based in Franksville, WI. Candidates must be able to work fully onsite at project sites in the region and travel between jobsites as required.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $50.00 - $52.00 per hour.
- Actual compensation offered will depend on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.

Benefit eligibility and details depend on classification and length of employment.
Workplace Type & Schedule
This is an onsite, field-focused role. Expect regular time on active construction sites with varying schedules aligned to project needs.
