Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Safety Specialist to support implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of site safety programs on industrial construction projects. Reporting to the Project Safety Manager, you will help apply the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP), support compliance with client and corporate safety standards, audit work execution, assist with incident response and investigations, and collaborate with operations and craft to implement corrective actions.
Location & Travel
- Base location: Louisville, KY (authoritative location for this posting).
- Travel and regular on-site presence will be required for project assignments. Candidate must be willing to relocate or travel as project needs dictate.
- Relocation assistance or per diem options may be available depending on assignment.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in the development, review, updating, and communication of the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) to all workers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with craft and field operations daily to build buy-in and ownership of the safety program.
- Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to company policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
- Plan, prioritize, and problem-solve with operations using leading indicators and upcoming work plans.
- Support incident investigations and help implement effective corrective actions.
- Complete daily documented hazard inspections and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Review work plans, work packs, and detailed plans prior to the start of work.
- Assist and deliver safety training on company and client requirements, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, orientation, and site-specific procedures.
- Maintain project safety files in compliance with OSHA/MSHA and company policy.
- Provide first-aid support coordination and maintain relationships with emergency medical services and clinics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and current federal OSHA requirements.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred; Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) preferred.
- 0–2 years of construction safety or related experience (entry-level considered).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies and follow through on corrective actions.
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to access all points of a construction site in varying climates and conditions.
- Willingness to travel and relocate as required by project assignments.

Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated compensation shown on source listing: $78,847 per year (estimated).
