What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Safety Engineer (Level I or II) to implement and administer a site safety program that supports a Zero Injury culture across construction projects. This role will partner with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory personnel to maintain safe work environments and drive continuous improvement.
- Implement and administer site-specific safety programs and orientations
- Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and hazard analyses
- Document and track safety violations and corrective actions
- Manage OSHA reporting and assist with incident investigation and root-cause analysis
- Review safety submittals and monitor trade partner safety plans
- Support onsite injury management and return-to-work processes
- Maintain PPE, safety equipment, and related budgets
- Provide industrial hygiene evaluation input and safety-related technical guidance
- Chair or attend safety meetings; prepare and present safety metrics and trends
- Build strong working relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders
- Participate in project planning to identify and mitigate safety hazards
Qualifications
Candidates may apply to the level that matches their background. The Confidential Client welcomes applicants for both Safety Engineer I and Safety Engineer II.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in occupational safety, health, or a related field preferred
- OR high school diploma plus CHST or STS certification, OSHA 30-hour training, and a minimum of five years construction experience (for Level I path)
- Safety Engineer II: minimum one year of related safety experience (or meet higher-level qualifications)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites (up to 100% travel)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety-related software
- Strong communication, presentation, and public-speaking ability
- Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, initiative, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Positive, professional attitude and strong customer-service orientation
- Internship experience in safety or construction is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is based on the level applied for, experience, and location.
- Safety Engineer I: base pay range $78,800 - $98,500 per year
- Safety Engineer II: base pay range $81,800 - $110,400 per year
(Actual pay may be higher in certain office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – +5%; Seattle, WA and Portland, OR – +10%; Washington, D.C. – +12.5%. Base pay is positioned within the range based on skills, experience, and internal equity. This role is eligible for the client’s incentive program.)
