What You’ll Do

This opportunity is for Safety Engineer I or II (Power). The role supports project-level safety delivery for a confidential client and requires frequent travel as described below.

  • Implement and administer the project safety program, including site-specific activities, orientations, and training
  • Conduct safety audits, document and track safety violations, analyze safety data, and assist with incident analysis and OSHA reporting
  • Review safety submittals and trade partner work plans; monitor onsite work for compliance with procedures
  • Assist with onsite injury management and maintain PPE and related safety equipment
  • Serve as a safety resource: attend and chair safety meetings, collaborate with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurers, and regulatory visitors
  • Support project planning and hazard analysis; evaluate industrial hygiene concerns and help maintain compliance with applicable safety standards
  • Manage safety-related budgets and support safety recognitions/engagement activities
  • Build effective working relationships across functional levels and diverse backgrounds

Qualifications

Candidates may apply to level I or level II based on experience.

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in occupational safety, health, or related field preferred
  • OR high school diploma with CHST or STS certification, OSHA 30-hour training, and a minimum of five years construction experience (for some level I roles)
  • Safety Engineer II: minimum one year of related experience
  • Current driver’s license and willingness/ability to travel up to 100% on rotational assignments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common safety-related software
  • Strong communication, presentation, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple project tasks
  • Positive, professional customer-service orientation

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is determined based on level, experience, and location.

  • Safety Engineer I base pay range: $78,800 — $98,500 per year
  • Safety Engineer II base pay range: $81,800 — $110,400 per year
  • Note: Certain office locations may have higher ranges (e.g., Denver, CO and Chicago, IL +5%; Seattle, WA and Portland, OR +10%; Washington, D.C. +12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
  • This position is eligible for the client’s incentive plan.

  • Employment type: Contract / Full-time (open to either depending on posting)
  • Job location type: Remote / Telecommute with substantial travel (this role requires rotations and travel up to 100%)
