What You’ll Do
We are working with a Confidential Client building next‑generation robotic intelligence. As a Robotics Software Engineer you will deliver production-quality software that powers sensing, planning, and control for real-world robots.
- Design and implement robotics software modules (perception, localization, planning, control).
- Develop and maintain C++ and Python code for ROS/ROS2-based systems.
- Integrate algorithms (SLAM, sensor fusion, state estimation) with hardware and simulation.
- Build and run tests on hardware-in-the-loop and simulation environments.
- Optimize real-time components for performance and reliability on embedded platforms.
- Troubleshoot and root-cause issues observed on physical robots; work with cross-functional teams to deploy fixes.
- Contribute to architecture, code reviews, and engineering best practices (CI, unit/integration tests, documentation).
What We’re Looking For
The Confidential Client seeks engineers who can move from prototype to production while collaborating across software, firmware and systems teams.
- Strong software engineering skills in C++ (modern C++ preferred) and Python.
- Experience with ROS or ROS2 and robot middleware.
- Familiarity with Linux-based development, cross-compilation, and debugging tools.
- Practical experience with perception or stateestimation (e.g., SLAM, Kalman filters, sensor fusion).
- Proven ability to test on hardware and interpret sensor data (LiDAR, camera, IMU).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have
- Background in machine learning for robotics (perception or policy learning).
- Experience with real-time systems, RTOS, or embedded Linux kernels.
- Knowledge of motion planning frameworks and control theory.
- Experience with simulation tools (Gazebo, Webots, Isaac) and CI/CD for robotics.
Education & Experience
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 3+ years building robotics or embedded systems software (junior candidates with strong relevant experience may be considered).
Location & Work Arrangement
- Location: United States — open to candidates across the U.S.
- Work arrangement details (on-site, hybrid, or remote) will be confirmed by the Confidential Client during the hiring process.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation and benefits are set by the Confidential Client and vary by location and level. Specific salary ranges (if provided) will be listed by the hiring employer per applicable local law.
