What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Robotics Software Engineer focused on grasping. In this role you will architect, implement, and validate production-quality grasping algorithms and supporting systems that operate reliably on physical robots in real industrial settings. You will translate partner requirements into robust software, collaborate across perception, simulation and systems teams, and help ship reliable robotics features that enable real-world automation.

  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient, production-ready algorithms for robotic grasping and manipulation
  • Write clean, well-tested C++ and Python code that runs on production robots and simulation
  • Integrate grasping components with perception, motion planning, and control systems
  • Validate solutions on real hardware; iterate based on test results and partner feedback
  • Improve core robotics software frameworks and tooling to increase reliability and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (robotics researchers, engineers, application teams) to move features from prototype to product

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a closely related field
  • 2+ years of professional robotics experience (motion planning, control, or manipulation backgrounds welcome)
  • Strong software engineering skills in C++ and Python; experience delivering production-quality code
  • Solid foundation in robotics fundamentals: linear algebra, spatial transforms, kinematics, and rigid-body dynamics
  • Hands-on experience testing, deploying, and iterating on physical robot hardware
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills; ability to take ambiguous requirements to reliable technical outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Robotics or related field with emphasis on motion planning, controls, or grasping
  • Prior hands-on experience with robotic grasping or manipulation research-to-product projects
  • Full-stack robotics experience across kinematics, motion generation, perception integration, and system testing
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and bridging sim-to-real gaps

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range (USD): $147,200 - $208,250 per year
  • Additional compensation: 15% bonus target + equity + comprehensive benefits
  • Employment type: Full-time

The posted salary range applies to this Mountain View, CA-based role. Final specific salary will be shared by your recruiter based on experience, location, and role responsibilities.
