What You’ll Do
- Develop embedded software for new and legacy robotics products to control robot motion, interface with vacuum chamber sub-systems, and run self-diagnostics.
- Design, implement, and maintain robotics software and control applications for advanced automation systems.
- Build software infrastructure for machine and robot data collection, storage, analytics, and monitoring.
- Create intelligent diagnostics, visualization, and data-driven automation capabilities.
- Apply machine learning and AI techniques to improve diagnostics, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, product management, and customers to define and implement new features.
- Author and review software requirements and design documentation; participate in design reviews.
- Ensure high software quality through development best practices and automated testing.
- Participate in Zero Defects / DevOps process improvement initiatives; research and evaluate new tools and practices.
- Support manufacturing and field service engineers to investigate and troubleshoot field issues (remote or on-site).
What You’ll Bring
- Proficiency in C++ (C++11 or later).
- Experience with embedded, real-time systems in multi-threaded and interrupt-driven environments (e.g., QNX or Real-Time Linux).
- Strong object-oriented design skills.
- Experience working in a team using modern SDLC practices, version control, remote debugging, and software release processes—experience in Agile environments preferred.
- Background in robotics software development, machine automation, or industrial control systems.
- Proficiency with Python and modern development frameworks.
- Familiarity with machine learning, AI, data analytics, or data-driven applications.
- Nice-to-haves:
- Experience supporting customers and addressing field issues.
- Knowledge of robotics kinematics/dynamics and motion planning.
- Experience developing data collection, visualization, or analytics solutions.
- Familiarity with generative AI, LLMs, or AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with cloud/edge computing, databases, or distributed data platforms.
- Exposure to JavaScript, MATLAB, or similar scripting tools.
Compensation
- Base salary range: $94,280.13 to $127,555.47 USD per year.
- This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
- Actual starting pay within the posted range may vary based on geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other job-related factors.

Work Location & Flexibility
