Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room (OR) in Balcones Heights, TX. This onsite RN role may qualify for a sign-on bonus and offers opportunities for professional growth, continuing education, and a comprehensive benefits package. The position requires standard perioperative nursing duties, completion of required competencies, and adherence to state licensure and facility policies.
What You’ll Do
- Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care for patients across the lifespan in the Operating Room and related surgical/procedural areas
- Prepare patients and OR environment for surgical procedures; assist surgical team during operations
- Monitor patient status, document care and communicate changes to the care team
- Follow established policies, procedures and infection-control standards
- Complete required competencies and training within the designated introductory period
- Participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives and support continuous improvement efforts
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license, or eligibility to obtain state RN licensure prior to hire
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Completion of a peri-anesthesia or critical care internship/training course
- Prior perioperative experience preferred but not required
Required Certifications & Training
- BLS (Basic Life Support) — required at hire (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) — required for Surgery Services; must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer into unit if not current
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — required for Post-Anesthesia areas; must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer into unit if applicable
Preferred (but not required at hire):
- CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) — board eligible/certified
- CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) — board eligible/certified
- SGNA certification for GI Lab nurses — board eligible/certified
Compensation & Schedule
- Estimated pay: $54,296 per year — estimated (source-provided estimate). Exact compensation depends on experience, licensure, and shift.
- Primarily full-time schedules in an onsite hospital surgical environment; shift details will be discussed during recruiting.
