About the role

Confidential Client is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical / Progressive Care (PCU) assignment in Clackamas, OR. This is a contract role (36-hour schedule, days) supporting progressive/intermediate care patients. The RN uses clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team.

What You’ll Do

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments (biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education and discharge needs).
• Identify deviations on routine labs and diagnostics and reassess patients throughout hospitalization.
• Develop and document individualized nursing plans of care and patient teaching plans.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other hospital departments and community agencies.
• Implement physician orders, follow unit protocols for management of medical/surgical patients, and provide timely documentation in the EMR.
• Safely calculate, prepare, and administer medications; initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations.
• Classify patient acuity, delegate appropriately, and participate in unit quality assurance activities.
• Use telemetry monitoring and manage patients who may require advanced respiratory support as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum nine (9) months RN experience OR successful completion of a MedSurg PCU RN New Grad Internship program.
• One (1) year current telemetry inpatient experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license for Oregon.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire.
• Computer keyboarding and EMR documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year current experience in a progressive or intermediate care unit.
• Recent experience caring for respiratory-compromised patients (long-term ventilation, tracheostomy, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP).
• Recent Rhythm Recognition training or passing score on Rhythm Recognition test.
• PCCN or CCRN certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related degree.
• Previous healthcare experience beyond basic RN tenure.
