What You’ll Do
Confidential Client’s Risk & Underwriting Leadership Development Program (RULDP) is a hands-on, early-career program designed to accelerate underwriting expertise through structured training, mentorship, and real business responsibility. In this role you will:
- Assess risk characteristics and recommend pricing and policy terms that balance competitiveness with financial discipline.
- Apply quantitative analysis and underwriting judgment to evaluate profitability drivers and clearly articulate trade-offs.
- After initial training, help manage a book of business: monitor performance, identify trends, and take proactive actions.
- Collaborate with Sales and Account Management to design customer-focused solutions that support retention.
- Negotiate with clients and brokers using data-driven rationale and professional presence.
- Share insights and best practices to improve underwriting consistency, efficiency, and outcomes.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred majors/minors: Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Economics, Finance, Management, Mathematics, Healthcare. Degrees outside these fields require relevant experience or internships in analytics, finance, or insurance.
- Demonstrated quantitative capability (coursework, projects, or practical experience) and comfort working with data and numbers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present recommendations clearly and persuasively.
- Customer-focused mindset and collaborative approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- GPA 3.0 or higher.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Confidence in negotiation and problem-solving.
- Proficiency with Excel or similar analytical tools.
- Growth mindset and learning agility; receptive to feedback and continuous improvement.
Locations & Work Model
- This position is based in one of the following office locations: Bloomfield, CT; Denver, CO; Chattanooga, TN; Franklin, TN; Scottsdale, AZ; or Philadelphia, PA.
- Hybrid schedule required: a minimum of three days per week onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional onsite day of the employee’s choice). Remaining days may be remote.
- Relocation assistance is not offered; employees must be able to meet the onsite schedule at their assigned location.
Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated hourly rate: $25.00 – $38.00 USD per hour (final offer depends on experience and geographic location).
- Role is anticipated to be eligible for an annual bonus plan and the comprehensive benefits package described above.
Pre-Employment & Work Authorization
- Selected candidates will complete mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days prior to the program start date, including a drug test. Candidates must be available within the United States for these steps.
