Role Overview
Our confidential client in Accounting & Finance is seeking a Statistical & Credit Risk Modeling Associate to join their risk and regulatory practice in Chicago, IL. In this role you will use advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and data visualization to help clients identify and manage credit and financial risk. You will work on client engagements, support model development and validation, build dashboards, and contribute to data quality and pipeline improvements while growing your technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets to extract insights and support data-driven decision-making
- Apply statistical modeling techniques to address complex credit and financial risk challenges
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to streamline integration and processing
- Build dashboards and visualizations (Power BI, Tableau) to present findings clearly to stakeholders
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and data quality issues
- Design and implement data quality improvement plans to enhance reliability of analyses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and synthesize information from diverse sources
- Apply machine learning algorithms to develop predictive models for risk analysis
- Use Python and SQL for data manipulation, modeling, and reporting
- Support client engagements with data-driven insights and actionable recommendations
Minimum Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, or related work
- Practical experience using Python and SQL (used for data manipulation and modeling)
- Authorized to work in the United States for this role
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Degree fields such as Accounting, Engineering, Data Analytics/Science, Computer and Information Science, Economics, or Finance
- Certifications or hands-on experience with one or more of: Databricks, MS SQL, Power BI, Tableau, AWS, Azure, GCP, Python, SAS
- Familiarity with Alteryx or other data preparation tools
- Experience with credit risk modeling, statistical methods, or predictive analytics
- Demonstrated learning mindset and ability to adapt in fast-paced client environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical results to non-technical stakeholders
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $63,000 - $140,000 (actual pay will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and in accordance with applicable law)
- Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
- Benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and personal/family sick leave
- Specific benefits and eligibility will be provided by the confidential client
