Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level RF Engineer I to join their wireless engineering team in Aurora, CO. This role is designed for early-career engineers who want hands-on experience with 4G LTE and 5G network design, drive-test analysis, and performance optimization while learning from experienced RF engineers.

Estimated (Adzuna data): $131,480 per year — use for candidate reference only.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with RF network design, coverage analysis, and propagation modeling for macro, small cell, and DAS deployments.
  • Support senior engineers with link budget calculations and coverage predictions.
  • Analyze network performance KPIs such as RSRP, SINR, throughput, and call-drop rates.
  • Perform drive-test and walk-test data analysis using tools such as TEMS, Nemo, or Actix.
  • Help troubleshoot network performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare RF engineering documentation, reports, and design review materials.
  • Collaborate with RAN engineering, field operations, and construction teams.
  • Participate in design reviews and planning meetings; follow engineering standards and documentation practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of RF engineering or wireless telecommunications experience (internships and co-ops count).
  • Basic understanding of LTE and 5G radio technologies and network architecture.
  • Familiarity with RF fundamentals: propagation, link budgets, path loss, and interference.
  • Comfortable with data analysis, interpreting KPIs, and creating clear technical reports.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn on the job.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-have

  • Hands-on experience with drive-test tools (TEMS, Nemo, Actix) or network performance tools.
  • Coursework or projects involving propagation modeling, MATLAB/Python scripting, or RF simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with RAN components and network optimization workflows.
  • Active security clearance or prior telecom field experience (beneficial but not required).
