Role overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an entry-level RF Design Engineer I in Hialeah, FL. This Engineering role supports the design, simulation, measurement, and documentation of ceramic-based RF and millimeter-wave passive components, packages, and multi-function modules. This position reports to senior engineering staff and is ideal for recent BSEE graduates or engineers with <1 year of RF experience who want hands-on experience with EM/circuit simulation tools and RF laboratory instrumentation.
What You’ll Do
- Support RF design and development for passive RF, millimeter-wave components, packages and multi-function modules under guidance.
- Run EM and circuit-level simulations with tools such as Ansys HFSS, Genesys, ADS, or CST.
- Model designs, execute parametric sweeps and optimizations, analyze and summarize results.
- Assist with RF measurements using Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and test power supplies.
- Collect, organize and analyze measured and simulated data to support design reviews and reporting.
- Prepare design documentation to support the Product Generation Process (PGP).
- Support product characterization, qualification and test development with Product, Manufacturing, Quality and Test Engineers.
- Collaborate with Project Management to meet timelines and budget constraints.
- Participate in ISO audits and internal/external reviews as required.
- Help draft and improve engineering procedures and processes.
- Contribute to intellectual property development and cross-functional technical initiatives.
- Create scripts and automate simulation runs to optimize component performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 0–1 year of relevant experience; RF-focused academic coursework or capstone projects strongly preferred.
- Strong fundamentals in RF and microwave engineering (filters, couplers, power dividers, baluns).
- Familiarity with EM simulation methods (MoM, FEM) and tools such as Ansys HFSS, CST, ADS or Genesys.
- Hands-on experience or coursework using RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes).
- Proficiency in scripting and data analysis (Python, MATLAB or similar).
- Ability to model, run sweeps/optimizations and interpret simulation and measurement data.
- Strong problem-solving, organization and technical documentation skills.
- Professional, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills in English.
- Eagerness to learn, proactive mindset, and ability to work on multiple parallel tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Academic publications in RF are a plus; experience with active RF components (LNAs, PAs) is a bonus.
Compensation & Employment Type
- Salary range: $90,000 - $98,000 per year (Confidential Client)
