Summary

Confidential Client is seeking an RF Design Electrical Engineer I to join an RF design team in Tucson, AZ (onsite). This entry-level engineering role supports design, simulation, test, and integration of RF and microwave hardware for radar and datalink applications in tactical systems. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance are required.


What You’ll Do

  • Design, simulate, and verify RF circuits and assemblies from preliminary design through integration and test.
  • Support RF chains (receivers, exciters) and individual RF components (filters, limiters, couplers).
  • Perform lab work for component characterization, module verification, and system integration.
  • Handle and test sensitive RF hardware in a controlled environment.
  • Work on circuit card assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed-signal elements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (power, digital, mechanical).
  • Capture schematics and produce detailed design documentation.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field completed by the start date.
  • Experience and/or coursework with programming or simulation tools such as MATLAB, SIMULINK, C/C++, or equivalent.
  • Experience and/or coursework in two or more of:
    • Communication theory
    • Digital signal processing
    • Probability theory
    • Stochastic signal processing
    • RF and electromagnetic theory
  • U.S. citizenship is required; ability to obtain an interim U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret) prior to start.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Focus in digital communications, communications systems design, datalink hardware development, waveform algorithm development, or DSP.
  • ABET-accredited degree preferred (but not required).
  • Practical understanding of RF electronics design considerations.
  • Experience with tools such as Mentor Xpedition (xDX Designer), SystemVision, MATLAB, MathCad, CST, Microwave Design Studio, HFSS, or ADS.

Location & Clearance

  • Work site: Tucson, AZ (onsite). This role requires working primarily at the Tucson facility.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret). Active and transferable clearance preferred; U.S. citizenship required.

Compensation

  • Salary range: $57,200 — $108,800 USD per year (good-faith estimate across experience levels). Actual pay offered will depend on role, experience, location, education, and skills.
