REVIT Electrical Designer
The REVIT Electrical Designer at Confidential Client is responsible for developing complex electrical power distribution and control system designs for large-scale industrial facilities using advanced 3D modeling tools like REVIT and Smartplant 3D. This role involves creating detailed electrical schematics, power and lighting plans, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure constructability, safety, and project success in fast-paced EPC environments. Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a REVIT Electrical Designer to support large-scale industrial and EPC projects. You will produce constructible, coordinated electrical designs using REVIT (primary) and SmartPlant 3D, working on medium- and low-voltage systems, grounding and bonding, cable routing, lighting/photometric layouts, and equipment integration. This role supports projects from concept through commissioning and emphasizes constructability, safety, and schedule-driven execution.
What You’ll Do
- Utilize REVIT 3D (primary) and SmartPlant 3D to create electrical design deliverables for industrial facilities and buildings.
- Produce power distribution diagrams, one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, panel schedules, load lists, and model-based quantity takeoffs.
- Model cable trays, conduit, raceways, grounding systems, lighting plans, and equipment layouts (transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs).
- Coordinate design and perform clash detection with multi-discipline teams.
- Apply relevant codes and standards (NEC, ANSI/IEEE) to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Identify scope changes on small projects and produce necessary design revisions to stay within budget and schedule.
- Support mid- to large-scale EPC and design-build projects; senior designers may lead small teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred; OR High School diploma with 7+ years’ related experience.
- Minimum 2 years' electrical design/modeling experience using REVIT for 3D electrical modeling (mid-level); 7+ years REVIT and/or SmartPlant 3D for senior-level roles.
- Demonstrated experience producing the deliverables listed above (one-lines, panel schedules, load lists, conduit/tray modeling, lighting plans).
- Strong understanding of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE standards.
- Experience working with multi-discipline teams and subcontractors on construction-oriented projects (Design for Construction, Design/Build, EPC preferred).
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively.
Location & Work Arrangement
- Primary location: Roanoke, TX (Confidential Client office locations may include other regional offices).
- This role supports TELECOMMUTE options; to work fully remote (from outside office hubs) or to be based in certain offices, Confidential Client is seeking more senior designers with at least 7 years of REVIT electrical design experience.
- Relocation assistance: available for select district office locations only (confirm during interview).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base compensation range (as posted by Confidential Client): $63,000 — $110,000 per year. Actual pay will vary based on experience, location, and qualifications.
