What You’ll Do
The Respiratory Therapist I provides assessment, treatment, and care for patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders across the lifespan. You will deliver therapeutic interventions, perform diagnostic testing, and educate patients and families to support optimal respiratory health and recovery while following Confidential Client policies and clinical protocols.
- Provide bedside respiratory assessment and evaluation
- Deliver therapeutic interventions (oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, airway management)
- Perform diagnostic tests (arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function testing as applicable)
- Manage ventilator settings and perform respiratory support in collaboration with the care team
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use, and discharge instructions
- Document care accurately and timely in the medical record
- Participate in quality improvement, infection prevention, and safety initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with Confidential Client’s mission and standards
Required qualifications
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or equivalent as required by Ohio law
- Completion of clinical rotations as part of an accredited respiratory therapy program (entry-level candidates acceptable)
- Current and valid Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license issued by the State Medical Board of Ohio
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification by the American Heart Association — to be obtained prior to or within 30 days of hire
- Ability to work assigned schedule, including weekend shifts and part-time hours
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- One or more years’ experience as a licensed Respiratory Therapist in an acute care or critical care setting
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Prior experience with ventilator management and critical care protocols

Compensation
- Estimated pay: $51,622 per year (estimated; sourced from job posting). Actual pay and benefits will be determined by Confidential Client and may vary based on experience and location.
