Overview
This opportunity is for a Respiratory Therapist to join a confidential client in Bloomer, WI. The Respiratory Therapist provides assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients with cardiopulmonary disease across the continuum of care and works closely with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and develop/implement respiratory care plans.
- Provide ventilator management, airway care, oxygen therapy, and bronchopulmonary hygiene.
- Monitor patient response to therapy and report significant changes to the care team.
- Administer and evaluate diagnostic studies (e.g., blood gases, pulmonary function tests) and document results.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate clinical status, interventions, and outcomes.
- Support continuous quality improvement and follow established protocols and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
- Basic computer literacy and clear verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and contribute to quality improvement efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
- Additional NBRC specialty credentials preferred (e.g., neonatal, pediatric).
Required Licenses & Certifications
- National Board for Respiratory Care entry-level certification (CRT) required prior to the first day of employment with the confidential client.
- Valid permission or licensure to practice in the state of hire prior to the first day of employment (permanent or temporary permit where applicable).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required upon hire or within one year and must be maintained.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire or within 90 days of start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire or within 6 months (site-determined).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) where applicable.
- Additional life support certifications may be required by site and must be maintained throughout employment.
