About the Role
Under supervision, the Respiratory Care Practitioner I provides specialized respiratory care for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. You will deliver therapies (medical gas, humidity, aerosol, hyperinflation, bronchial hygiene), manage invasive and non‑invasive mechanical ventilation, participate in emergency airway and respiratory care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans.

- Work setting: hospital inpatient care (clinical duties and on-call/shift requirements as assigned)
- Employment type: Full-time (shift schedules may be modified by the hospital)
What You’ll Do
- Assess cardiopulmonary patients and recommend appropriate respiratory interventions
- Administer therapies: medical gases, humidity therapy, aerosolized medications, hyperinflation techniques, and bronchial hygiene
- Manage and monitor patients on invasive and non‑invasive mechanical ventilation
- Provide emergency respiratory care and support code responses as needed
- Document interventions, patient response, and equipment settings accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to develop and carry out multidisciplinary plans of care
- Maintain competency with respiratory care equipment, infection control, and safety protocols
What We’re Looking For
- Associates Degree in Respiratory Care from a COARC‑accredited program required; Bachelor’s in Respiratory Care preferred
- Active Maryland state license required (must maintain active status)
- BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS preferred
- New graduates are encouraged to apply; entry‑level to experienced candidates considered based on demonstrated competency
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and clear communication skills
- Authorization to work in the U.S. required; applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range (client-provided): $34.62/hour — $57.19/hour (compensation will be commensurate with experience and equity)
