Position Overview
Confidential Client (Scientific & QA) is seeking an entry-level Residue Chemistry Assistant Scientist to join their laboratory in Prathersville, MO. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career scientists who want hands-on laboratory experience in residue analysis, method execution, and GLP-quality data reporting. Training and mentorship are provided.
What You’ll Do
- Execute routine and somewhat complex laboratory experiments following protocol, methods, and SOPs that meet applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., EPA, FDA, FIFRA, OECD).
- Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties.
- Prepare standards, calibration solutions, and specifications for tests and processes.
- Operate and support analytical instrumentation; LC-MS/MS experience is a strong plus.
- Perform first-level data review, basic data analysis, and prepare reports that meet auditable quality standards for client deliverables.
- Handle regulated or sensitive materials where applicable (quarantined matrices, DEA-controlled, radiolabeled materials) following proper safety procedures.
- Assist study directors or project leads on GLP studies; support study planning and documentation as needed.
- Maintain accurate lab records, follow chain-of-custody procedures, and support laboratory housekeeping and compliance efforts.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, environmental studies, or a related field. In rare cases, comparable demonstrated experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Strong laboratory fundamentals, attention to detail, and good record-keeping habits.
- Basic familiarity with analytical workflows and comfort using lab software and common scientific tools.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare clear, concise reports.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and take on varied tasks.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.
Preferred / Helpful Skills
- Hands-on experience or coursework with LC-MS/MS or other chromatographic / mass spectrometry techniques.
- Experience with GLP or regulated laboratory environments.
- Prior exposure to residue analysis, sample preparation, or method validation.
Schedule & Location
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; overtime and occasional weekend shifts may be required.

- Estimated compensation (job-board estimate): ~$49,969/year.
