Role overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring a Residential Counselor II to join a youth residential program (NEXT | DYS) in Indian Orchard, MA. This full-time role supports a therapeutic residential environment and provides direct care, casework, and advocacy for youth served by the program. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.
What you’ll do
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment that meets residents’ medical, emotional, food, clothing, and shelter needs
- Implement consistent limits and structure, both inside the residence and in the community
- Attend clinical, staff, and supervisory meetings; contribute to treatment planning and case reviews
- Maintain client records and timely progress notes for each shift
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) through coaching and hands-on training
- Provide case management, outreach, and advocacy; be accountable for case quality and caseload expectations
- Respond appropriately and safely to emergency situations
- Build supportive relationships that promote dignity, choice, and independence for individuals served
Minimum qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
- At least 1 year of relevant experience (residential, youth services, social work, or similar)
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving history, and reliable access to an automobile (for transport and program duties)
- Prefer bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet state employment eligibility requirements

- Experience with documentation, progress notes, and basic case-management tasks
- Ability to de-escalate challenging situations and follow safety protocols

Compensation & benefits
- Posted hourly rate: $22.58 per hour (source posting)
