What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Residential Counselor I to join its youth residential program (DYS NEXT). In this role you will maintain a safe, therapeutic residential environment and support the daily needs and development of youth in care.
- Maintain safety, medical, emotional, food, clothing, and shelter needs for residents
- Implement consistent limits, routines and behavioral supports both in the residence and the community
- Attend clinical and staff meetings; contribute to treatment planning and case reviews
- Maintain timely client records and shift progress notes in the required format
- Participate in supervisory meetings and follow program guidance from managers
- Assist residents to develop activities-of-daily-living (ADL) skills through coaching and group activities
- Provide case management, outreach and advocacy as assigned
- Respond safely and appropriately to emergency situations; follow safety protocols
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 1 year of related experience working with youth or in residential/social services
- Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving history; reliable access to an automobile for transporting individuals when required (driving verification will be part of onboarding)
- Ability to complete required documentation and maintain timely records
- Availability to work rotating shifts and participate in required trainings
Preferred / Desired
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or a related field
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Experience in trauma-informed care, behavioral health, or youth residential programs
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, supportive relationships with youth

- Hourly rate: $21.00 per hour
