Program Overview

Confidential Client is recruiting Resident Teachers for a Maryland Approved Alternative Preparation Program (MAAPP). This is a full-time, 10-month teaching placement within a two-year teaching residency designed to lead to an Initial Professional License (PL) in the specified content area. The program combines recruitment, pre-employment training, a supervised internship, residency, and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Meet the requirements and timelines of the Resident Teacher Program.
• Participate in pre-employment and ongoing program training.
• Meet regularly with subject coordinators and mentor teachers.
• Assist with planning, developing, and implementing curriculum and assessments.
• Use student data to inform instruction and differentiate learning.
• Model effective instructional strategies and support improved student outcomes.
• Attend staff and professional meetings; participate in parent/student conferences as needed.
• Maintain records, write reports, and follow established procedures.
• Collaborate with counselors, administrators, colleagues, families, and community partners.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the residency and school goals.

Program Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution conferred by the program deadline.
• Meet Maryland’s basic skills requirement via approved assessment (Praxis Core, SAT, ACT, GRE) or have at least a 3.0 GPA on the most recent degree earned.
• Successfully complete the required Praxis content assessment for the applicable certification area (Praxis II) by the program deadline.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Complete the Resident Teacher Program application, interview, and selection process.
• Submit official transcripts and supporting documentation by established deadlines.
• Commit to teaching with Confidential Client for a minimum period as required by the program (program requires a minimum teaching commitment).

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (field other than education is acceptable) from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on college/university transcripts (or meet basic skills assessment equivalency).
• Acceptable basic-skills demonstration includes Praxis Core, Praxis I, SAT, ACT, GRE, or GPA threshold per program rules.
• Specific score thresholds (as applicable to program timelines):
  • ACT — minimum 24
  • SAT thresholds vary by test date as specified by program
  • GRE thresholds vary by test date as specified by program

• Base salary: $64,471 per year (final placement determined by Human Resources and applicable salary guidelines).
• Program structure: Two-year residency leading to eligibility for an Initial Professional License upon successful completion.
