Role overview

This is an entry- to mid-level Research Technician II position supporting laboratory research into acute myeloid leukemia (AML) immunology. You will perform routine and specialized lab work — including cell culture, flow cytometry, molecular biology, and basic gene-editing workflows — under direct supervision. The role offers strong mentorship, access to advanced platforms (single-cell genomics, high-parameter flow cytometry), and opportunities to contribute to collaborative projects.


What you’ll do

  • Contribute to one or more independent or collaborative research projects focused on AML and immune interactions.
  • Perform routine and specialized experiments: flow cytometry, cell culture, molecular biology/cloning, and CRISPR/gene-editing techniques as needed.
  • Maintain accurate lab documentation, notebooks, and experiment logs.
  • Prepare reagents, maintain lab stocks, and assist with lab equipment upkeep and calibration.
  • Record, organize, and help analyze experimental data; generate charts and figures as directed.
  • Help develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures and laboratory protocols.
  • Coordinate schedules for tests and experimental procedures when needed.
  • Attend lab meetings, trainings, and seminars to expand technical knowledge and skills.
  • Support an inclusive, collaborative lab environment that values scientific rigor and professional development.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma / GED — required
  • Associate’s Degree — preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree — preferred

Experience

  • Minimum: At least 1 year of related classroom training or successful completion of a technical training program (e.g., Wistar, WPSI) plus research laboratory experience — required.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of similar training and hands-on research lab experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Intermediate understanding of lab procedures, protocols, and common laboratory equipment.
  • Basic exposure to lab-specific experiments and scientific analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (full-time): $43,900.00 - $54,800.00 annually.
  • Competitive benefits and career development support are available and may vary based on experience and role-specific factors.
  • Note: If hired part-time, compensation will be prorated accordingly.

Location & workplace

  • Philadelphia Campus — Colket Translational Research Building (Philadelphia, PA). This role is onsite at the research campus.
