Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a motivated Research Office Assistant to support a long-term, NIH-funded clinical research study focused on women with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). This is an entry-level, temporary position (initial duration: 12 months) supporting study operations, participant care, and regulatory documentation. This role is based in Indiana, PA and is primarily onsite with limited hybrid flexibility (typically 1–2 remote days/week once trained).


What You’ll Do

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Clinical Coordinator on a multi-year NIH-funded research study.
  • Coordinate participant scheduling, manage visit flow, and support participant retention via phone and email.
  • Collaborate with research and lab team members to facilitate smooth study operations.
  • Prepare, organize, and assist with study documentation to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Handle inter-departmental correspondence and campus pick-ups/deliveries for study supplies/equipment.
  • Perform other clinical trial–related administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Any experience or internships in research, clinical, or laboratory settings is a plus.
  • Genuine interest in pursuing a career in clinical research.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; professional and compassionate when working with participants.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good decision-making, critical thinking, and judgment — knows when to escalate issues.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, adaptable, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, lab/hospital staff).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with databases or research reporting tools is helpful.

Logistics & Compensation

  • Location: Indiana, PA (work is primarily onsite; hybrid flexibility after training).
  • Employment type: Temporary (initial 12 months), Full-time (typical hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; flexible).
  • Pay: Up to $20/hour as a temporary employee (source listing). An estimated annualized figure shown on the posting is approximately $59,246 (estimate only).
  • Start: As soon as possible for the right candidate.
  • Note: You will be employed by Confidential Client (via Careertakes) as a temporary member of the study team.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Primarily desk-based work and computer time.
  • Some standing, walking, and routine interaction with participants and staff.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs as needed for supplies/equipment handling.
