What You’ll Do

As a Research Department Coordinator (Entry Level / New Grad), you will support day-to-day administrative and research operations for the department located in Quaker Hill, CT. This is a hands-on role well suited to a recent BS/BA graduate or someone with early-career research admin experience.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and summarize project progress and prepare concise summary reports (subject to final Government approval).
  • Assist the Government Principal Investigator (PI) with project estimate sheets and provide periodic spending updates to Department Heads.
  • Draft, review, and help disseminate internal and external communications (subject to final Government approval).
  • Track routing and status of research products, proposals, protocols, presentations, papers, patents, and related deliverables.
  • Support administrative, financial, logistical, and scheduling tasks for scientific research (including IRB and Scientific Review Board documentation tracking), in accordance with Command policy.
  • Help prepare standard operating procedures and "go-by" documentation for administrative research processes, subject to final Government approval.
  • Coordinate Government-approved SharePoint document content and maintain strong document quality (no typos, correct grammar and formatting).
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure timely, organized research operations.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
  • Experience or exposure to a scientific research environment (internships, lab coursework, or entry-level roles are acceptable).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and familiarity with web-based research tools.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • US citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain at least a SECRET security clearance; preference given to candidates who already possess a SECRET clearance.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to collaborate with researchers and government colleagues on a peer basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrative experience within a government, military, or research organization.
  • Experience with documentation management, purchasing processes, and SharePoint.
  • Prior experience supporting IRB or similar review processes.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $48,100 – $86,950 per year (guideline; final offer considers experience, education, skills, and internal equity).
  • Standard benefits package (health & wellness programs, paid leave, retirement, income protection). Specific benefits will be provided by the hiring organization.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain, at minimum, a SECRET security clearance. Candidates who already hold SECRET clearance will be given preference.
