Research Data Analyst

What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Research Data Analyst to support clinical and translational research projects. In this role you will gather, clean, analyze, and interpret research data and turn findings into clear recommendations and visualizations for study teams and investigators.
- Design and implement data collection plans and sampling strategies for research projects
- Extract, clean, transform, and merge data from multiple sources to create analyzable datasets
- Use statistical methods to analyze quantitative data and run longitudinal regression and other models as needed
- Perform range, validity, and quality checks; document data issues and recommend procedural changes to reduce errors
- Produce tables, charts, and written summaries that clearly communicate results for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Document data definitions, pipelines, and metadata for reuse by statisticians and other researchers
- Collaborate with investigators, study staff, and interdisciplinary teams to support study design and interpretation of results
- Support scientific writing, including drafting methods and results for publication when needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., statistics, biostatistics, economics, computer science, public health) or equivalent experience/training
- Strong quantitative training and demonstrated problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated service orientation and effective interpersonal communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of progressive programming or equivalent educational experience
- Proficiency with SQL and experience using R or Python for data analysis
- Familiarity with data management practices, logical data design, or data warehouse concepts
- Experience performing longitudinal regression modeling and sample size calculations
- Experience creating and documenting analyzable datasets for statisticians
- Strong experience with MS Word, Excel, and Access
- Experience in scientific writing for publication and presenting results to non-technical audiences
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills for abstracting information requirements from real-world processes
Skills & Tools
- SQL
- R and/or Python
- Data cleaning and ETL workflows
- Statistical modeling (longitudinal regression preferred)
- MS Excel, Word; familiarity with Access or other database tools
- Data documentation and metadata creation
- Strong written and verbal communication
