Role Overview
The Research Coordinator (Research Coordinator — Crystal, VA) will support a broad portfolio of public health and epidemiology studies from study design through data dissemination. Working for a Confidential Client, you will manage projects, conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses, complete IRB and compliance tasks, and translate scientific findings into clear, actionable outputs for diverse audiences.
What You’ll Do
- Manage, support, and contribute to multiple concurrent research projects.
- Conceptualize, design, and implement new research initiatives (qualitative and quantitative).
- Design surveys, conduct literature reviews, and develop study protocols.
- Perform statistical analyses and create data tables, figures, and visualizations.
- Translate research findings into reports, manuscripts, presentations, blog posts, and plain‑language summaries.
- Draft and support submission of abstracts, manuscripts, and conference presentations.
- Recruit and coordinate advisors, participants, and research subjects; support outreach and recruitment efforts.
- Prepare timely IRB submissions and maintain compliance documentation.
- Coordinate communications with consultants, vendors, and external research partners.
- Maintain research content across organizational websites and digital platforms; ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Assist with meetings, events, program validation, and evaluation activities.
- Other duties as assigned; occasional travel required.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including survey design, data analysis, and evaluation methodology.
- Familiarity with epidemiology and public health research methods.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical content for non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with IRB processes and research ethics.
- Ability to manage multiple large projects independently with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience presenting research to scientific, professional, or public audiences.
- Proficiency with Office 365; experience with statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS) and data visualization tools preferred.
- Comfort with and curiosity about emerging tools (including AI) for literature review, data analysis, and research communications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, health sciences, social sciences, or related field (required).
- ~2 years of research, analytics, or statistics experience preferred (entry-level applicants with strong analytical skills encouraged).
- Experience in patient-centered research, needs assessments, health literacy, or working in nonprofit/patient-advocacy settings is a plus.
- Experience working with federal funding or grant‑funded research is advantageous.
Compensation & Location
- Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year.
- Location: Crystal / Arlington, VA (postal code 22202). This is a full-time, on-site position with occasional travel.
