What You’ll Do

This is a six-month, onsite contract for an entry-level Research Associate (0–2 years experience). The role supports early-phase assay development prior to transfer to CAP/CLIA-certified labs for clinical work. The Research Associate I will support laboratory experimentation, manufacturing procedures, documentation, data analysis, and basic computational biology tasks.

  • Conduct laboratory research, development, and manufacturing experiments to support confidential client projects.
  • Design, execute, and interpret experiments under project guidance; exercise sound technical judgment.
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
  • Present experimental results to the project team and participate in technical discussions.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by reviewing scientific literature and participating in relevant forums.
  • Follow regulatory and quality standards (GMP, GLP, Design Control) and maintain accurate lab records and electronic documentation.
  • Act as principal investigator for assigned experiments when required.
  • Support basic computational biology tasks: run scripts, execute analyses, and read simple code to help distribute workload.

Qualifications — Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field (biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related).
  • 0–2 years of relevant laboratory or industry experience (this is an entry-level role).
  • Demonstrated customer-facing or client-interaction experience (e.g., retail, restaurant, or service roles) to support professional communication and problem resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail and good laboratory documentation practices.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time for the duration of the contract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computational biology familiarity — comfortable running scripts and reading code.
  • Exposure to assay development or clinical-translational laboratory workflows.
  • Familiarity with GMP/GLP and Design Control concepts.

  • Candidates with a Master’s degree, PhD, or more than 2 years of relevant experience are considered overqualified for this position.
  • This role is onsite and contract-based; schedule and target start date are indicated below.

Compensation & Location

  • Location: Oro Valley, AZ (onsite).
  • Estimated annual compensation (listed by source): $61,146 per year — reported as an estimate. Exact pay and benefits (if any) will be disclosed by the hiring organization during the recruitment process.
