Confidential Client, a growing partner-led retained executive search firm based in Boston, is hiring a Research Analyst to join its team. This is an entry-level, full-time role (hybrid preferred) for a smart, curious, highly organized individual who wants to learn the executive search business and support client engagements focused on private equity and portfolio companies.

Key responsibilities
Candidate & market research
- Conduct targeted candidate sourcing for executive search assignments across industries and functions.
- Identify potential candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, databases, online research, AI-enabled tools, and other research methods.
- Research companies, organizational structures, executives, markets, and competitive landscapes.
- Build and maintain target company lists, candidate pipelines, and market maps.
- Maintain accurate candidate and company records in the firm’s systems and update research based on feedback.
Client materials & search execution
- Prepare accurate, polished client-facing materials: candidate profiles, search updates, research summaries, target lists, briefing documents, and presentations.
- Synthesize information from multiple sources into concise, well-organized written deliverables.
- Proofread and quality-check materials for accuracy, consistency, and presentation.
- Assist with preparation for client meetings and search update calls.
- Enter and maintain information in the firm’s CRM and support documentation for active searches.
Technology, AI & process improvement
- Become a skilled user of the firm’s technology platforms, research tools, and CRM.
- Explore and help adopt practical uses of AI and emerging tech to improve research quality and productivity.
- Identify opportunities to streamline recurring processes and share best practices with the team.
- Troubleshoot workflow and tool issues and suggest improvements.
Team & firm support
- Work collaboratively with partners, recruiters, researchers, and operations colleagues on multiple concurrent searches.
- Manage shifting priorities and respond to time-sensitive requests with urgency and attention to detail.
- Pitch in on projects outside the core job description as needs arise.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive client and candidate information.
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
- 0–2 years of professional experience; exceptional recent graduates are welcome.
- Strong analytical and research skills; ability to find, evaluate, organize, and synthesize information.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards for accuracy and quality.
- Strong written communication skills; ability to produce clear, concise materials.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities.
- Comfortable with technology (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and interested in AI-enabled tools.
- Prior experience in executive search, recruiting, private equity, or professional services is a plus but not required.
