Position overview
Confidential Client is hiring entry-level, remote-capable Software Developers to join teams supporting enterprise IT projects. This role is ideal for recent CS/Engineering graduates, career-switchers with foundational technical skills, or professionals returning after a gap who want hands-on experience that maps to real employer expectations. You’ll work on practical software tasks, build demonstrable projects, and receive coaching to improve interview readiness.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to development tasks on real-world projects (backend, frontend, or full‑stack) under mentorship
- Write, test, and maintain clean, well-documented code in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Participate in code reviews and follow established source control workflows (Git)
- Implement and run unit tests; help troubleshoot and resolve bugs
- Learn and apply basic data storage and retrieval with SQL or NoSQL databases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, QA, DevOps) in an agile environment
- Build small portfolio-ready projects that demonstrate your skills to hiring managers
- Attend technical coaching and resume/portfolio sessions when provided
What We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications (entry-level):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field — OR equivalent demonstrable experience/projects
- Solid understanding of CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OOP, and basic systems concepts
- Hands-on experience with at least one programming language (Java, Python, or JavaScript preferred)
- Familiarity with Git and basic command-line tools
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies quickly
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; able to work remotely and collaborate across time zones as required
Preferred (nice-to-have):
- Coursework, internships, or personal projects showing full‑stack development, data analysis, or ML fundamentals
- Experience with web frameworks (Spring, Django, Flask, Node/Express, React, Angular, Vue)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers (Docker), or CI/CD tooling
- Any contributions to open-source projects, hackathon participation, or a public code portfolio (GitHub, GitLab)
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base compensation: $205,930 per year (estimated)
