Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Rehabilitation Technician to join the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in Clairemore, OK. This role may be filled at Level I, II, or III depending on experience. The Rehabilitation Technician provides technical support to professional rehabilitation staff and helps deliver services to individuals with physical or mental disabilities, blindness, or visual impairment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled technical assistance to rehabilitation staff in direct client services.
  • Assist clients in completing applications for services and gather required documentation.
  • Arrange and gather medical diagnosis information, coordinate medical procedures with vendors, and send case-related correspondence.
  • Process and maintain case data (applications, eligibility information, Individualized Plans for Employment (IPEs), case notes, closures, and authorizations) in the client data system.
  • Maintain physical and scanned files according to agency filing standards; transfer case records through the management information system.
  • Support general office operations and front-desk reception duties as needed.
  • Coordinate referrals for vocational evaluation, skills analysis, and other services; follow up on consumer progress and collect necessary documentation.
  • May act as a team lead or perform advanced case management duties at higher levels.

Level Descriptions

  • Level I — Entry level, training status, close supervision. Duties include basic client intake, research and entry of case information, arranging medical procedures, and general office tasks.
  • Level II — Career level with a full range of activities: coordinating client services, preparing electronic case files, arranging vendor services, and disseminating program information.
  • Level III — Specialist level: advanced casework management, annual reviews, in-depth follow-up, maintaining vendor/medical/educational contacts, and possible team lead duties.

Required Education & Experience

  • Level I — One year of office technical/clerical experience.
  • Level II — Two years of technical clerical work or equivalent education/experience.
  • Level III — Two years of technical clerical experience plus one year in a vocational rehabilitation program; OR a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, orientation & mobility, rehabilitation teaching, vocational evaluation, education, behavioral science, or a related field plus one year of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with basic computer functions, spelling, grammar, and arithmetic.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate file and data management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with clients, vendors, and staff.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • For higher levels: knowledge of rehabilitation services/programs and casework management.
  • Some positions may require proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) — competency tested by the Deaf and Hearing Impaired Unit.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary (listed by level, annual):
    • Level I (Pay Band H): $38,756.69 / year
    • Level II (Pay Band H): $40,694.69 / year
    • Level III (Pay Band I): $43,299.11 / year
