Summary
Under supervision, the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) applies specialized respiratory care knowledge to evaluate cardiopulmonary function and recommend/perform appropriate interventions. The role includes administering medical gas and aerosol therapies, providing bronchial hygiene and hyperinflation therapies, and managing invasive and non‑invasive mechanical ventilation. The RRT responds to respiratory emergencies, documents care, and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered respiratory support for a confidential client in the Healthcare & Nursing sector.
What You’ll Do
- Provide respiratory assessment and treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Administer medical gases, humidification, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy.
- Initiate and manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, including ventilator adjustments per protocol.
- Perform advanced airway management and emergency respiratory interventions as needed.
- Deliver bronchial hygiene, hyperinflation, and other pulmonary therapies.
- Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and allied health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of treatments and patient responses.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and continuing education initiatives.
Qualifications (Minimum)
- Associates Degree in Respiratory Care from a COARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program required.
- Maryland State Respiratory Care license required (active).
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship (applicants requiring sponsorship will not be considered).
- All professional credentials must be maintained in active status.
- New graduates from accredited programs are encouraged to apply.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care (COARC-accredited) preferred.
- ACLS preferred.
- Documented clinical competency across basic and advanced respiratory care interventions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $34.62 – $57.19 per hour (compensation will be commensurate with experience and equity).
- Estimated annual salary (for reference): varies by schedule and FTE.
