Role summary
This Registered Nurse (Community Living Center) role supports a confidential client in the Healthcare & Nursing industry. The position is a full-time, contract role based in Wilkes Barre, PA. The role delivers direct patient care in a long-term / community living center environment, working with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, veteran/patient-centered nursing services.
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct nursing care to residents in a community living / long-term care setting.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in accordance with clinical standards and facility policies.
- Administer medications, treatments and document care in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers and other team members to develop and update individualized care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement, infection prevention, and safety initiatives.
- Mentor and educate junior nursing staff, nursing students, or support personnel as applicable.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team regarding treatment goals and status.
Qualifications
- Current, full, active and unrestricted RN license in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. (Pennsylvania RN licensure required prior to practicing in-state.)
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, BSN, MSN) OR foreign-educated nurses with appropriate credential equivalency and active U.S. registration.
- English language proficiency sufficient for safe practice and clear documentation.
- Clinical experience consistent with the assigned grade/level:
- Nurse I (Level I–III) through Nurse III — see scope below for education/experience combinations.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and assist residents as required by the role’s physical demands.
Grade / level highlights (examples):
- Nurse I, Level I: ADN or Diploma (entry-level, developing technical competencies).
- Nurse I, Level II: ADN/Diploma + 1 year specialized experience OR BSN with no additional experience.
- Nurse I, Level III: ADN/Diploma + 2 years (one year equivalent to Level II) OR BSN + 1 year equivalent to Level II.
- Nurse II / Nurse III: advanced degree and progressive specialized experience as described in applicable qualification standards.
Note: Candidates may be appointed as Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) on a temporary basis while pursuing licensure, per policy and when applicable.
Required / Preferred
- Required: Current RN license (or eligibility under GNT exception) and ability to meet credentialing requirements.
- Preferred: BSN or higher, prior long-term care / community living center experience, leadership or precepting experience, and familiarity with evidence-based practice and quality improvement processes.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay range (provided by client): $64,058 - $119,679 per year.
- Employment type: Full-time, Contract.
- Typical schedule: Facility shift schedule (may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays) — specifics will be provided by the confidential client.
Location & Work Setting
- Worksite: Onsite at the community living center in Wilkes Barre, PA.
- This role requires in-person clinical care and direct interaction with patients/residents.
