What You’ll Do
The Registered Nurse (RN) will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in a university student health center setting. Core responsibilities include:
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, implement treatments, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Triage and manage common acute and chronic student health concerns.
- Provide patient education focused on prevention, wellness, and self-care.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and basic procedures per clinical protocols.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in compliance with confidentiality laws.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership, campus personnel, and external providers to coordinate care.
- Operate and maintain clinic equipment (e.g., BP units, otoscope, ophthalmoscope, autoclave, centrifuge, lab equipment).
- Support clinic quality improvement initiatives and adhere to established policies and protocols.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of advanced nursing skills and up-to-date clinical practices.
- Familiarity with university policies and student-centered care models.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and make sound clinical decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Skill in maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate records.
- Competence using basic medical and office technology (EHRs, diagnostic tools, computers).
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year of clinical nursing experience.
- Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in Tennessee, or a compact/multistate RN license by time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience in ambulatory care, student health, or college/university health services.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Work requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or climbing. The role may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving heavy items on occasion. Candidates must be able to perceive and respond to alarms and communicate effectively in high-stress situations. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as required by law.
Compensation & Benefits

- Salary: $53,112.67 (MR 7 entry level) — as listed by the client.
