What You’ll Do

Confidential client is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the 5 Central Surgical PCU. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a progressive care / post-surgical unit and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and safe transitions.

• Provide direct patient care to post-surgical and step-down patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Monitor and assess patient condition, interpret data, report changes and implement interventions
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments according to plan of care and scope of practice
• Manage post-operative orders, pain control, and wound care for surgical patients
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists, case management and support services
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge planning and follow-up
• Document assessments, interventions and patient outcomes in the electronic health record
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement, safety initiatives and professional development

Qualifications (Basic Requirements)

Applicants must meet all applicable licensure and education requirements for practice in the state of Michigan.

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration/license in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth or D.C.
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE accreditation where applicable)
• English language proficiency sufficient for safe, effective patient care
• New graduates may be considered under Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) temporary appointment rules while pursuing licensure, per policy
• Ability to meet grade/level criteria (Nurse I/II/III) based on education and experience as outlined in the qualification standard

Preferred Experience

• Prior ICU, Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Surgical nursing experience (post-operative care)
• Critical thinking and ability to manage complex patient loads

Physical & Occupational Requirements

• Visual acuity, clear speech, and good hearing required
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and transfer patients and equipment as needed
• Occasional exposure to infectious materials; appropriate PPE and safety protocols provided
• Must be able to work in high-stress situations and adapt to shifting priorities

Compensation & Employment Details

• Employment type: Full time (Contractor classification per client posting)
• Salary range (posted): $81,479 - $139,574 per year
• Location: Ann Arbor, MI
• Typical shift patterns and benefits will be provided by the hiring organization during the interview process
