Primary Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Primary Care with our confidential client you will:
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient/primary care setting
- Perform patient assessments, triage, and health screenings
- Administer medications and treatments according to clinical protocols
- Document care accurately in the medical record and maintain timely clinical notes
- Coordinate care and referrals with interdisciplinary teams and community resources
- Support patient education, preventive care, and chronic disease management
- Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and safety initiatives
- Maintain required licensure, certifications, and annual trainings
Qualifications & Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet ALL applicable requirements below:
- English language proficiency (written and spoken)
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accreditation at time of program completion), OR
- Enrollment in a master's-level bridge program with coursework equivalent to a BSN may allow for temporary appointment pending state registration
- Foreign nursing graduates must hold current, full, active, unrestricted registration; degree equivalency may be required for degrees above entry level
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception: candidates meeting education requirements but not yet licensed may be appointed on a temporary basis while pursuing licensure (per program rules)
- Education/experience will determine grade/level. Examples from qualification guidelines:
- Nurse I, Level I — ADN or Diploma in Nursing
- Nurse I, Level II — ADN/Diploma PLUS 1 year of specialized experience OR BSN (no additional experience)
- Nurse I, Level III — ADN/Diploma + 2 yrs experience OR BSN + 1 yr experience OR MSN (no additional experience)
- Nurse II/III and higher — advanced degree and specified years of specialized experience as required
- Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and shift priorities based on patient needs
For full grade/level criteria and dimension requirements (Practice, Veteran/Patient Driven Care, Leadership, Professional Development, Evidence-Based Practice/Research), candidates may be asked to complete an online assessment referenced by the client.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of Primary Care or outpatient nursing experience
- BSN or higher (preferred for advanced levels)
- Experience working in team-based primary care, chronic disease management, or population health initiatives
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Visual acuity, keen hearing, clear speech, and manual dexterity
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, sit, bend, pull, and push for long periods as required by patient care duties
- May be required to transfer patients and objects (mechanical lifts provided where appropriate)
- Potential exposure to infectious patients/materials; use of appropriate PPE and infection-control procedures required
- Occasional exposure to patients with cognitive or behavioral issues; maturity and flexibility to work safely in these situations
- Must complete annual employee health requirements (e.g., TB screening/testing) as a condition of employment
