What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level New Grad Registered Nurse (RN) role on a med-surg oncology unit in Cincinnati, OH. You will deliver patient-centered nursing care, work closely with the interdisciplinary team, and follow evidence-based plans to improve outcomes while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Utilize strong organizational and teamwork skills to assess patient status
- Provide nursing care for medical and surgical oncology patients
- Implement clinical nursing interventions and monitor patient responses
- Develop and carry out individualized care plans to meet patient needs
- Collect vital signs, perform assessments, and document accurately
- Administer IV and other medications per policy and scope of practice
- Escalate changes in condition and collaborate with providers and support staff
- Participate in orientation and ongoing competency development as a New Grad
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, therapists, and ancillary staff to coordinate care
- Monitor and document patient condition, vital signs, and responses to treatment
- Safely administer medications and IV therapies consistent with state practice acts and facility policies
- Evaluate, update, and revise plan of care to achieve expected outcomes
- Provide patient and family education appropriate to condition and treatment
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment and follow infection prevention guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned to support unit operations and patient flow
Schedule & Employment Type
This is a full-time, day-shift position. Typical scheduled weekly hours: 60 (confirm exact schedule during interview/onboarding). Employment type: FULL_TIME.
Qualifications
- New Grad or experienced Registered Nurse eligible for entry-level med-surg roles
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient setting and adapt to changing patient needs
- Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required Licensing & Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or RN applicant eligible for licensure in Ohio
- Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association (preferred upon hire; required prior to direct patient care)
