Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support outpatient mental health care. This role focuses on direct patient care in an outpatient clinic setting, delivering evidence-based, patient-centered mental health services. Employment is with Confidential Client; the position is located in Leavenworth, KS.
What You’ll Do
- Provide safe, competent, and compassionate nursing care to patients in an outpatient mental health clinic.
- Conduct patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement interventions aligned with best practices and clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (behavioral health providers, social workers, pharmacists, etc.) to coordinate care and referrals.
- Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and document care in the medical record per organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice activities.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, medication management, and self-care strategies.
- Adhere to state nursing licensure requirements, clinical policies, and federal/state laws affecting care delivery.
Employment Type & Compensation
- Employment Type: Full time (Contract)
- Salary Range: $70,009 - $130,744 per year
(Compensation reflects the range provided by Confidential Client; actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and applicable law.)
Required Qualifications
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse (RN) in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE accreditation where applicable), or equivalent licensure/registration for internationally educated nurses with required credentialing.
- English language proficiency sufficient for effective verbal and written communication in direct patient care.
- Ability to perform clinical duties with the physical demands typical of outpatient nursing (walking, standing, sitting, moderate lifting, bending, kneeling).
- Ability to pass background checks and meet any clinic-specific credentials and vaccination requirements.
Additional Hiring & Licensure Notes
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception: Candidates who meet education requirements but lack initial licensure may be considered for temporary appointment while pursuing licensure, per Confidential Client policy and applicable federal/regulatory standards.
- Grade/level and pay step will be determined by scope of practice, education, experience, and demonstrated competencies.
- Foreign-educated nurses must provide degree equivalency evaluation from a recognized evaluator (when required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in mental health or outpatient clinic nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience with veteran or behavioral health populations is beneficial.
Physical & Work Environment
- This clinical role involves patient-facing duties that may require prolonged standing/walking, assisting patients, safe patient handling techniques, and occasional moderate lifting.
- Work is performed in an outpatient clinical setting; schedule may include standard clinic hours and possible flexibility based on operational needs.
